But it was the DOHC 222 hp SL model, not the VR$. It was a great car, quick, and extremely reliable. The 5-speed SL tranny is virtually bulletproof, but not so with the 6-spd Getrag AWD tranny, which is known to implode and very spensive to replace. Biggest problem was with the brake rotors, which I had replaced several times under warranty by the dealer. Finally went to aftermarket Brembos and problem solved. I sold it with just under 110k miles and had changed out the clutch hydraulics (original clutch mechanism), timing belt, and a few other small things. Loved that car, except for the front wheel drive.
