Message Grundy is an "Agreed Value", not "Stated Value" (Agreed is what you want. With Stated Value, they can fuck you).

Agreed value insurance is based on an appraisal.
You must consider the fact that modified parts (in general) depreciate just like new cars, so they're worth much less as soon as they're installed and considered "used". Why would an insurance company want to pay $3500 for a brand new turbo kit to replace yours which had 40k miles on it that you wouldn't be able to get $2k for on the used market? Same goes with wheels, coilovers, exhaust, etc. etc.
