...really depends on your motivation. The salvage title will always be a red flag to any buyer and will hurt price. If your plan is to keep and just drive the snot out of it then it may be worthwhile to proceed. We bought an older E36 bmw sedan that had a salvage title from a front end crash and was rebuilt. Aside from missing some front engine bay trim pieces and small items the car looked pretty decent, tire wear was normal, and frame appeared straight. We needed a city car that would likely get dinged up a bit from horrible parallel 'parkers' and wear and tear and this fit the bill perfectly. We bought it at roughly 60% of the going market rate and put 100K miles on it before selling it to the next party. I couldn't have been happier.
