I'll give anyone credit for thinking about how to make something better, or to save money, and/or to simply take the pride of saying "I did it." But your communication of this idea leaves a lot of critical details out for someone else to successfully duplicate, for example: 1) does this assembly affect the engine height? 2) how long is the stud? 3) does welding a threaded stud weaken it? You obviously have some knowledge of machining/fabrication principles, thread sizes, and how to read a tape measure, but if this is as simple and cheap as you say, then make a set and show us how right you are. If you can't do that, you're going to find TT.net to be a tough crowd to earn respect from.
