Message Are you familiar with the formula? There are a few tuner softwares/calculators out there that take the guess work out. Unfortunately, all the ones I'd recommend piggy back on the PLC software we use, but you can find a good calculator.

The best advice I can give is graph. With PID tuning you are looking for two curves. It should dip once then peak once then it should immediately track if you've got your settings right. In my experience, Derivative is used where tracking vs time is lengthy. (Like temperature control). So if it were me I'd leave derivative blank.

Is there a white paper or tech note on it? What type of PID is it? Dependent vs Independent will change the meaning of your Integral. IE min/repeat, etc.

If you get it right, it'll work flawlessly.
