And even I find it hard to hate the LS platform for what it is. I just don't like the false notion that it's cheaper to transplant one into a non native chassis if you're not doing all the fab work yourself, for the same performance as the VG. It's a packaging nightmare when you want to add a turbo too; not a good idea in all chassis. I also don't like when people whine about reliability in comparison to an old/tired engine (that was often times mistreated or not maintained/modified properly). Not talking about anyone in particular. Nowadays, I'd much sooner swap in a NA VG shortblock with 40P heads, and boost it with E85 for an easy and fairly cheap 600hp, reliably. To each their own, at least you're enjoying your car.
