Message cold weight oil. Going to a 5w oil would only benefit your engine if you were doing cold starts in much cooler/approaching freezing temperatures. However, you would likely benefit (in terms of engine wear) from going to a slightly heavier warm weight oil with the hotter temperatures you run in. As others suggested, a 15w50 weight oil is good. I personally would recommend Mobil 1 15w50, but there many brands out there. I used that year 'round when I lived in SoCal. I switched to Mobil1 5w50 after moving back to Northern California, as I was getting a lot of lifter noise starting the Z in the cooler temperatures up here.
