Message Fuel.

We find in 5 years of SZ dyno weekends, the fuel quality is the biggest factor. 2 examples:

1) In 2012, we were into day 2 of dynoing and were starting with cars running 94 ethanol blend that we commonly run up here. Normally they tune fine, however, we couldn't get the cars to boost past 15 PSI without detonating. Greg insisted the fuel was behaving like a 91. We dumped the rest of the 94 from the car we were tuning and I got fresh 94 blend from a different station, also a different retailer. Boom... car boosted to 19 PSI no problem. We later found out that the first place (right near the dyno, which we had been using for our previous weekends) had been giving away premium fuel on the day before on the radio to bikers... long story short, someone fucked up the fuel delivery and dumped a bunch of low grade fuel into the 94.

2) Last year, we had a fuel comparison between Stanky's 94 no ethanol Chevron fuel he packed all the way from BC and Wild Maxx's 92 US fuel he packed from Washington. Cars were similarly modded. Stanky couldn't boost past 15 PSI, Maxx got to 17.5 (Stanky=Green, Wild Maxx=Red):

Same day, same dyno, same tuners, mods comparable. The 92 was the better fuel.
