Message Yes, if your car needs a new engine, new paint, everything in between, and you want to buy everything new + labor, you are looking in for spending a TON of money. In this case it's better to buy a well maintained Z.

But if you are patient, buy decent used parts when applicable, and perform the all the work yourself, you can have a decent Z for less than you'd think.

When I bought my TT, it was ready for the junkyard. Trash paint, non running engine, rust holes in the floorboards, and literally ever single problem a 1991 TT will normally have. The price I bought her for, plus the cost of parts puts my entire project well under a comparable new Z purchase. She's now runs better and more reliable then any Z I've ever had.

Squirt some oil in your cylinders, prime the engine, and fire her up for the first time. See how the engine runs and turbos spool, and take it from there.
