I had the exact same symptoms, turns out the timing tensioner had failed and the belt was slapping around everywhere! See if you can get the timing cover off and run it to check The problem with low mileage cars is that everything is original, and at this age lots of components require replacing If you want a headache free Z (relatively of course), try and find one that was very well maintained, but with 135-150k miles at that mileage, a good Z owner will have taken care of all maintenance items
