If you already know where it needs to be and your alignment is good, then you can pop the centerplate off the steering wheel and use a steering wheel puller to pull the steering wheel off the shaft (make sure you mark where it aligned originally)and then you can move a few teeth to get it to align straight. A more "proper" method would be to mark TDC (Top Dead Center) of the wheel, hang a string with a small weight from the roof (such as around the sun visor) and align it to the center of the steering wheel. Disconnect your tie rods from the hubs/knuckles. Now turn your steering wheel full lock to lock and find the perfect center of the rack (This is your true center) look at the offset between the string and the mark on the steering wheel and this is how much you need to move the steering wheel to get it aligned. Now go get and alignment and the should get it aligned to the wheel and you'll have the same lock to lock turning from one side to the other. I hope that makes sense.
