Message	Maybe you never notice the impact but it does provide insurance for a given engine tune, or alternatively can provide an incrementally small increase in the power produced during tuning. Since a tuners job is to always tune for max results regardless of how the engine is configured they'd likely never notice the difference either but the hp is down ever so slightly without the damper.
