I just suspended the engine with ratchet straps and a leg from an engine hoist on wood across the strut towers. Then I unbolted the k-member and let it hang. Not very safe but I know what I'm doing, I honestly don't recommend it, use this method at your own risk. Also I don't know how well this would work on stock turbos (for anyone searching in the future, yes I broke the 4th wall :P) I also successfully changed the knock sensor in the stock location without removing the plenum and/or transmission, I only removed the lower heater hose and the starter. Some say they have changed the engine harness without removing the engine, others say they have removed turbos without pulling the engine.... but in the end everyone (including myself) realize it would've taken about the same amount of time to pull the engine (or in the case of the knock sensor, the transmission) and it would've been alot less hassle.
