This May/June, I'll be repainting my car completely with GTR/370Z white. For those that don't know, my engine bay is already painted that color so nothing needs to be done there. I just want to make sure I'm not missing anything before I start doing prep work. I will be doing the initial prep sanding down to either 400 or 600 before my friend who is a pro painter takes over from there to fill in any door dings. - My trunk is stripped, tail lights removed and butyl cleaned. - Front and rear bumpers are off and will remain off to be painted separately. - Fenders will be removed to get behind the doors better. - Doors will remain on but strikers will be removed so the jams can be painted. - Hood will be removed as well (or should it remain on since it will be painted underneath?) - Trunk lid will likely need to be removed since convertibles don't allow you to open but trunk and tonneau and painting with both attached would be a nightmare, especially when getting the jams. - Top will likely be stowed since the roll bar will be repainted as well when all the rest of the weather stripping is removed. - Antenna will be removed as will door handles and mirrors. - interior panels will be removed so there is no visible seam. Carpet will remain. - All window/door trim will be removed as well. Is there anything else I'm missing or tips before I start sanding?
