Then why would it not be found in the return hose on the European spec? As I mentioned earlier the European Z32 uses the same TT oil tree with relief spring as USDM/JDM. The system is identical with the only difference - the size of the cooler. Why would Nissan engineers not feel the need for the restrictor in the return hose of the Euro spec? I honestly don't know and was just comparing parts to try to get a better understanding. Some time ago I had ask Greg Dupree about it as well and his response was: The check valve is closed until pressure builds against it and allows it to open, the restrictor is after the check valve and does not affect the check valve.
