We are taking it to a machinist this weekend to see if he can do just that. However when I showed the pictures to Greg, Seb, and Kyle non were optimistic and all had major concerns. KyleatIPP it is an odd sized pipe thread fitting. Trying to properly drill it out and fit an insert into it without leaking would be an extremely difficult process. 6 mins ago KyleatIPP's icon KyleatIPP since there is an oil galley behind it, that also makes it extremely difficult to do properly without damaging the oil gallley and/or restricting oil flow which also makes it impossible to just weld up and retap 4 mins ago KyleatIPP also...to add to the problem is the turbo is very close to that fitting...so drilling, tapping, new fitting, etc...would have to be just right KyleatIPP's icon KyleatIPP basically not something I would want to tackle
Seb and Greg had similar concerns especially considering how tight things are in that area. I'd need to look up the email but IIRC there were also concerns of the WG actuator clearance if the geometry of the fitting were to change at all.
