Message The gauge cluster gets very hot inside. This is a good reason to switch to LEDs. The constant heating and cooling is causing condensation to form on the board.

The moisture is causing the very thin layer of protective conformal coating to break down and form a thick gooey substance. This thick gooey substance will stay on the board and make contact between the circuit connections.

This in turn causes electrolysis to occur between the circuit trace connections. This causes corossion which will advance rapidly once the whole process starts.
