| Z32 is a product of the 80 and 90s import sports car arms race. Everyone was trying to out do one another. (Z31 Included) and totally lost sight on what that Formula for the Z was. Now, not saying the Z32 is a bad thing at all, just it doesn't really fit in with the lineage and with the SUV/minivan transition leading to the sports car crash of the late 90s, it showed. ALL the import sports car priced themselves out of the market in the US. Which is over half of where the sales for these cars comes from Z33 and Z34, very much so, follow the Z formula.
and I believe the next gen Z will have a lot more in common with the Z32 (engineering wise) than any other. the Skyline and the GTR are, in their own right, kind of followed a similar great advances, then watering downs and peaking again recently..
OR if you want to think about it this way.. our parent's or grand parent's (or GGP depending on age) generation with their mindset and determination in getting shit done, does not follow along with the namby pamby mindset of the last 40/50 years of how we as a country has evolved... but it's still the same country and IT IS how it developed.... hugh strides when it was needed, then pulling back or slowing down when it was not..
You can't just jump rails and say, their real successor is Russia with their "Come and try and stop us" attitude of the last 20 years... Which some would say, is the natural evolution of going and kicking ass after wwii. Not sitting and playing the world manipulator.... In other words..... just BC the successor does not exceed the predecessor in power, design, or style... does not mean it's not a true successor.. just mean the predecessor was just that much ahead of it's time..
