Message here is the message I received from the seal company:

"A custom seal of this style typically requires a minimum run
of 250 pieces plus initial tooling charge. It is not typically a
problem to copy a seal, but, if we are trying to change the seal
pressure rating and durability, this would possibly require a
couple versions as well as testing, etc."

long story short, It is doable, and I would like to do it. I believe this would benefit the whole z community by creating a product that has been needed for years, with no feasible alternative.

Beyond buying and providing the testing materials (throttle bodies, bearings, plates, etc etc) and purchasing a few of the seals, I cannot truely get this project off the ground without a bit of support. I am also working on finding out if there are any associated testing fees (if any) for R&D on creating a new seal (which I am also willing to help fund)

so the issue at hand:

I'm guessing we would need a guarantee of minimum purchase (250 seals), or possibly a company/companies willing to carry them.

how do you go about sales pitching people or companies on a product that doesn't exist yet?
