Message Unfortunately the parts choices and prior work performed on this car were very poor. The car could not be safely tuned in the condition it was in.
The car was inspected, many small things were corrected, the customer was advised by Seb on better choices that could be made when correcting the problems, a list of items that needed to be corrected was given to the customer.

Here is what this customer was charged for:

Labor
1. $125
Inspect Z and smoke test

2. $200
Replace bad vacuum/boost tee's, replace hose clamps, replace air regulator hose, fix various in-correct vac/boost hose routings and replace required hoses, bypass AFC, Helicoil stripped Plenum, replace balance tube O-rings.

Parts
$20 Nissan-Matic ATF 2 quarts
$10 Air regulator hose
$17.50 Balance tube O-ring set
$5 8mmx1.25 helicoils
$8 Misc vacuum hose

Grand total $385

Here is the list of recommendations:

• The Front Mount intercooler leaks out of the end tank on the driver side. Recommend to replace with ASH Massive SMICs and ASH Piping. The AMS piping on the car fits terribly.

•The "HKS" BOVs are in fact FAKE Chinese copies. BOVs are also not recommended to run on a draw thru MAF setup found on this car. Recommend factory recirculation valves.

•The inlet pipes leading off the MAFs are welded and leak where they are welded, the inlet barbs for the recircs were deleted. Recommend installing ASH inlet piping.

•Oil Pan is severely dented in and appears to be causing loss of oil pressure and volume. This will cause engine damage sooner or later. Recommend pulling the engine out to fix this and MANY other problems. Will at the very least need a new Nissan oil pan.

•Oil pressure gauge does not work, recommend installing a new Nissan sensor to allow the factory gauge to work.

•Steering rack electrical connections are ripped apart and need to be reconnected with new connectors.

•Tension rod bushings are cracked. Recommend SPL rods.

•Transmission mount is bad.

•Center support bearing on driveshaft is bad.

•Both HICAS inner ball joints are very bad and loose.

•Entire exhaust is cheap Chinese and fits extremely poorly.

•Steering rack boots torn.

•Engine oil cooler mounted terribly. Needs a Stillen or Z1 or custom mounting bracket.

•Terrible catch can used, should be removed and set back to factory.

•Valve covers leak oil, passenger side the worst. It appears to have a crack and someone tried to band-aid it with awful amounts of silicone on the exterior.

•Electric fan on car. E-fans do not work well on these cars.

•Poor quality fuel hoses used and worm clamps used. Replace with Nissan fuel hose and clamps.

•Cheap Chinese fuel regulator and gauge used. Will not adjust to get the proper pressure. Recommend going back to a factory regulator, damper, and fuel filter.

•Original PTU from 1990. Nissan had a recall on these units back then. Recommend replacing it with the new style and soldering the sub-harness connections.

•Shock hardware is damaged (rubber mounts and insulators).

•Appears that the timing belt is not installed correctly. Crank gear appears to have a tooth or two advanced. Possible a cam gear is off a tooth judging by the way it pops and hesitates.
