Message I run 5w40 Rotella T6 and I will see 100psi when I start the Z and even with a few minutes to idle before I start off keeping it under 2k RPM it gets close to 110psi. My Autometer gauge doesn't even show pressure above 100psi, the techs there said it can only take 10% more than the last gauge marking so potentially the sender could be damaged with over 110psi.

I can see the reasoning behind running a w40 or w50 but I don't get why you want such a thick oil at ambient temperatures. If you aren't putting great loads until it's warmed up the 5w50 will be not that different to the 20w50. I do understand there are ranges allowed and the 5w50 may be slightly thinner at operating temperature than the 20w50, but it is still classified as a w50.
