Maybe I'm underestimating this, but it really doesn't seem that hard to me. Worst case, motor swap. If the car is really THAT nice and mint, $2000 doesn't seem like much to spend after all the other ridiculous amounts of money we've spent on this car already. Support for OBDII has been better now I believe as well from Nistune(?). To me, now I almost see it as the car to be sought after with just a motor pull and timing belt job (cams/vtc) while the engine is out.
