Message I have the full Megan Racing exhaust system (BOO, HISSSS) downpipes to catback, which has separated mid-pipes, no x/h connection.

Sitting on the dyno, after a couple of pulls Greg/Seb said something wasn't quite right with the exhaust. Greg hopped under the car and noted that the I had the separated pipes, and recommend taking them to a muffler shop to get a pipe welded in between them. I'm sure he can better explain it now, but IIRC basically he said you need the connection across to help balance out the 2 sides. Basically its a give/take to balance out the pressure and let the exhaust run optimally.

My setup and dyno results are in my profile. We didn't dyno on the 2 configs like you asked for, but maybe it will give you some idea.
