I've noticed that very late production 96 Z32's have a unique upper plenum. It appears they have a raised bump near each throttle body. Looking at Z32's in Japan after 96 it appears nearly all have the same as well. Anyone know or have any ideas what this is? It doesn't appear there is a part number change beginning late 96 in both the US and Japan databases. This reminds of the headlight glass changing for the USDM Z32's. There's extra fluting in the glass for either 94+ or 95+. No part number change for it either. But I imagine the extra fluting helps reduce glare. So what do these do on the plenum? BTW - I own two 96's and neither have this raised bump on the plenum. My latest build date on one is 03/96.
