Message Of course a chip will get you by for basic stuff, but it's by no means a tuning solution...

Haltech is a LOT more powerful and it has all kinds of goodies (like wideband feedback) you can't get through a stock ECU. The software is pretty easy to use, it's actually laid out a lot like Nistune.

Nistune IMO is the best for most people. It's amazing how much power you can get out of a stock ECU with Nistune. And with the new Feature Pack functions, it brings it a lot closer to the power you get from standalones, but it still comes short in some departments. For example, it supports widebands, and will even log wideband feedback inline with the Consult data stream, but the ECU has no way of handling wideband feedback, so it's just for tuning.

But nothing will be as easy to get up and running as Nistune, since it's based on a stock ECU.

There are other solutions out there, like the AEM Infinity, which is crazy powerful, but a lot more difficult to get up and running on a Z32 (whereas on officially supported vehicles like the Supra and 350Z, you can be up and running within 30 minutes).
