turbo itself not? The way I understand it heat, or heat after the oil pump has stopped flowing the oil, is what causes coking. So in order for the lines to coke before the turbo, the lines would have had to gotten hotter than the turbo, yet they get the lionshare of their heat from the turbo. Good and interesting find, but this seems to raise more questions than it answers.
