Message You have to remember that OEM rubber bushings are basically in a state of bind all the time - as the arms move they bind against the rubber that has enough give to allow the suspension to work, but it's really not optimal. The spherical bearings get rid of that bind and allow everything to move smoothly - the only problem being that they don't withstand the elements for thousands and thousands of miles like rubber.

I would think most of the wheel hop was caused by the subframe bushings themselves (but I'm not positive). I think there are plenty of guys that have just done subframe bushings (without all the monoball stuff like mine), so maybe someone else can chime in here.
