One of the ones I look at is, if you are running a fuel pump at max voltage the pump is pulling max current. Doing so robs your car of power at low RPMs where it's needed if you race. If you run fuel pumps wide open it's a must to upgrade to a high amp alternator. Otherwise you'll most likely experience stumble, noticeable or not, when you punch it from a take off. Any time your system draws a lot of current the ignition system suffers.
