Message Been away from this forum for a good while. Figured I'd come back and share something I'm experimenting with and something I haven't seen done before. I'm currently in the middle of getting my differential rebuilt. However I've kind of gone above and beyond just a simple rebuild.
The usual stuff is getting done, new bearings, new seals (especially since the front seal is leaking bad), cleaning everything, etc. I also have an aftermarket LSD by Carbonetic installed. It is a clutch 2-way LSD with I love. Honestly, it's my favorite mod on the car. However, I've abused it for a few years already, so the clutch disks are worn out and in need of replacement as well. I'm also adding a few other goodies which I'll share to you all with the following pictures.

One of the main differences between the regular rebuild, and mine, would be the addition of a few pieces. Like this Greddy differential cover. Has the capacity for more oil, as well as larger cooling fins. I've gone ahead and added a heat dissipating coating to the cover as well to help dissipate heat.

Also, with all the new bearings (4 of them in total), I've had them WPC treated to help in reducing friction and strengthening the parts to help with it's longevity and reduce wear.

Close up of the treatment. It gives the parts a cool dull titanium finish.

If you haven't heard of WPC treatment, look it up. It's amazing. Here's a short video of my treated bearing with a light coat of WD-40.
WPC Treated Bearing Test

It's like black magic for car parts, haha.

I went ahead and also got the new clutch disks for my LSD treated as well. From what I have been told, it will not affect the locking ability, just smoothen the transition from unlocked to fully locked, as well as lengthen the lifespan of the disks.

Now onto what I think makes my rebuild unique. These guys.

4.3 final drive. Should make my NA motor feel great! I went ahead and also WPC treated the ring and pinion assembly.

The only issue is that this 4.3 ring gear uses M12 bolts, whereas the Z32 ring gear and LSD housing uses M13 bolts. However, Nissan has these bolts available.

S15 ring gear bolts. M12 thread. M13 shoulder. Perfect for what I need.

Currently the diff is almost done. Here are a few progress shots.

Here's a shot of the cam that controls when the plates lock up.

The LSD assembly with the new clutch disks installed and the ring gear in place, as well as the new WPC treated bearings

Nice clean housing. Still needs that outer race removed and replaced with the new one though.

Pinion shaft comparison. This picture makes me feel easy about the compatibility of the 4.3 ring and pinion being able to work in the Z32 R200 unit.

And lastly a shot of the old work out clutch disks. I can see why the car was so notchy now.

Can't wait to get this fully assembled and back in the Z again. Should liven up the NA motor even more and get rid of those awkward spots on the track where you're not sure if you should shift up or stay in gear banging the limiter a few times, haha
