Message Been running 255/50/16 Mickey Thompson ET street radials on the rears, of my four TT rears, 500rwhp e85 stock turbo setup for the last month and absolutely love the "Point and shoot" drivability of the tires. I put the 18'' Motegi Touges off my 350z on the TT and was utterly disgusted by the heavy feeling that was felt all throughout the driving experience and the ease of breaking the 275/35/18 Nitto tires loose found me pointing backwards into traffic after exiting a corner into the 530ft lbs torque at 3800rpm the car produces. Completely satisfied with my 16" setup, I was amazed when I started looking around and making comparisons at how I could shed 5lbs a wheel on the rears just by switching over to Enkie Rpf1s in a 16x8, which weigh in at 14.9lbs compared to the 19.6lbs per OeM TT rear. The Enkies are almost identical to the weight of Weld wheels, or any "drag wheel" sold by Jegs or Summit, but would allow me to run a 16's outback, 17's upfront to allow for bigger brakes as well. This would net me a 10lbs unsprung savings in the rear, and around 8-9lbs in the front for right around "200lbs" of weight reduction. Not to mention a full wheel setup for right around $1000?!? I'm going to splurge next week and hopefully have the setup ready for a few runs at the strip in the middle of next month. Only wish the sizes I want came in the SBC finish.
