While my car was down waiting on tires, my battery died. I have an older/cheaper charger that is not made specifically for AGM chargers. From what I've read, using this charger directly is ineffective in charging and bad for the battery. After some searching, I found some references to another process on Optima's site. Basically, you charge a standard battery with a regular charger (which I have both of already) then connect jumper cables to the AGM battery. Is this good/bad/safe/effective? I'm not interested in ruining a $200 battery or buying a $200 AGM charger. Thoughts?
