Sorry for the enormous pics... Has anyone loaned some engine pulling tools from Pep Boys/AutoZone/Advanced Auto? If so, which ones? No rental engine hoists or engine stands seem to be available on their websites. Just asking if someone found a creative ways of getting the engine out. Below are some engine stands I'm looking into. Torin Big Red Engine Stand 1250 lb. Capacity
Seems like this engine stand would work better to transfer the engine from the hoist because the legs won’t get in the way. Torin Big Red Engine Stand 750 lb. Capacity
This AutoZone engine stand can be locked in 8 positions but it’s also a 3-point stand and perhaps less stable? Not sure if the Torin ones above can be locked. I found this engine stand locally on Craigslist for $40. Would this be a good idea? And of course the 1,000 lb. 4-feet Harbor Freight engine stand seem popular. Is it important to have a engine leveler, or flexible sling? Or is the RameyZ Sling the way to go – you don’t need the flexibility to level anything? Anything else you think I should be concerned about http://www.ttzd.com/tech/enginetech.html ]">pulling the engine for the first time?
