| I ran all new wiring for the fuel pumps. I would never run big displacement pumps off the stock wiring, just asking for trouble. Each runs on its own relay and both run full time. The hobbs switch is cool, but i don't see the downside to running both full time. The concern you should have with a dual pump setup, especially those with a intermittant secondary pump, is what happens if one of the pumps goes bad during a wot pull? Kaboom. Just keep that in mind. my next setup will be either a mechanical pump or a fuel cell with a big external single pump.
