| Here's some data I took from a TT oil pump relief spring assembly. Piston OD: 0.628" Spring: Length (inches).....Load (lbs).....PSI* 2.250....................0.0....................0 2.000...................12.9..................41.8 1.750...................27.5..................88.9 1.625***.............35.0.................113.0 1.500...................42.4.................136.9 ***At 1.625" the relief window becomes exposed and begins to allow oil to bypass internally. *PSI is the oil pressure required to compress the spring to the stated length/load and is calculated from the piston's area. The low pressure, primary relief valve for a TT's overall engine oil pressure is in the oil filter tree and allows excess pressure to flow through the oil cooler and then back to the sump. I have not tested this spring assembly.
