| I emailed guy: So you're getting 300hp and the speed and acceleration out of a non turbo 300ZX just because you re-programmed the ECU with a mail in chip and have bov's? When i was looking for a 300zx, I was looking for a twin turbo so i had already bought the bov's. I put them on simply because i paid 200bucks for them and didnt want them to just sit in my shed and collect dust. I fitted them on mostly for looks. And No you wont get the same acceleration as a turbo. But you do still get the horsepower and speed. The old chip in the car was using the R4 ECU, The R4 was completely removed and replaced with an RB30E chip which is the same chip used in the Nissan skyline. This tells the ECU that everything in the car is a skyline. The governors were also removed allowing you to get the maximum speed out of the car. Actually my car is faster than the TT 300zx because the governors in those stop the car at around 120mph where as my car has no govenor and the RB30E chip, allowing my top speed to be right at 154mph. I dont know what you were implying in your email but ive done my research on this very well and this was not done by some backyard hillbilly.It took a lot of time, thought, money and a lot of help from my mechanic to make this happen. You can do this on any car. Im not the first person to do this. Look it up online and youll see hundreds of car buffs have done this. Thats how i knew it was possible. Hopefully i answered your question. If you have any more just let me know. So according to this guy's logic, I wasted my money buying the more expensive twin turbo model when I could have bought a cheaper NA model and just removed a governor with a chip and had more hp and speed lol
