Message primary reason for piston noise, the piston design can also be a factor.

If you recall, the VG30 wiseco piston was noisy when it was first introduced years ago until wiseco tweaked the cam and barrel of the skirt. Now you rarely hear of a noisy wiseco setup. Perhaps CP needs some tweaking...

Are the CP pistons zero pin offset? I don't see an identifying mark on the piston that indicates which side of the piston is forward. If they are zero offset, they will make a touch more power due to decreased side loading, but at the expense of increased noise from the piston rocking at BDC.
