Message Many people including myself use a cheaper boost controller with zero issues. I personally use a greddy profec b spec 2 and I got it for 200. Thats a lot less than 600.
While the J&S safeguard is a nice thing to have, many people have ran without it for many many years without blowing their engines.
Used selins go for around 230 all the time. Ive even seen one go for 180 but thats rare.
Our cars have one MAS and a second one can easily be picked up for another 80. A trip to a junkyard can be even cheaper. Thats a long way from 250.
There are a lot of ecu that are already socketed that can be found for cheaper than 200. Both of the 300s ive bought already had socketed ecus.
You are also forgetting that a tune on the standalone will probably cost more than a regular tune. Also the AEM does not come with a boost controller and neither does the haltech. You have to buy the solenoids seperate and that adds to the 1800. Same goes with the traction control.
