I have a 440 horse motor, if I want to go to 500 hp...I can build it at one cost or buy one already built. You (as a group) prove that I can buy one cheaper than building one....I will buy it. Who determines that? The seller, who is willing to take the loss. Now as soon as Tim Davis or others that have a truely nice car with 500whp or more will sell me his car for $15k.... Tigers went up (they held at $17k for years and years) because the really nice ones that had big money in them could not be had for that. Who deterimined that....the present owners as a group. As one would show up for $50k asking, others would also also list theirs as $60K, making the 50 look good. Cobras the same way, back in the day they couldn't give them away at $7000. Look at their prices today. The smart guys buy what goes UP in value...ask yourself how does ANY of that happen with anything of value. Cars, paintings or anything collectable. First you have to have a following....but you also have to have existing owners who aren't willing to take a loss and demand more.
