As Darkzide also confirmed I wanted to also make it aware that I started to have the same issue with the Ashspec Duel pump and controller and the wires getting hot due to the extra amps being drawn. I started having an issue where both pumps quit working. So, we decided to tear it apart and build the hobbs switch solution for the second pump. I'm installing a manual override switch also in case the hobbs switch fails. As we took everything apart. I took a few photos of the problem areas. Here is a few photos of the connectors. Now, these are not quite as bad as darkzides, you can see where it could be a problem. Female end Male end As you can see there is some browning due to heat. Not good. Over time this could cause a fire. :-( My in tank wires where all good though. There was no burning. These were 12 gauge wires we soldered in place of the stock. Now the problem we found I was having was the brass round connectors that is surrounded plastic that the wires go through the hat had very poor connection. Once wiggled they pumps would start working. So we rewired the 2 pumps with new upgraded wire and threaded them through the holes and sealed with some Army grade 3M epoxy.
We should be done this evening with everything.
So be aware that the Ashpec duel pump clamp and controller needs upgraded wireing and the second pump should not be run on the same wireing system as stock. It needs its own dedicated power, ground and switch to turn on.
