to my 12JLW7 and love it. Its clean, and it hits exceptionally hard. It rattled off my third brake light and my license plate. Fortunately, I had temp plates at the time and put in large metal screws with some loctite to prevent it from happening again. For comparison, I have a RF 300-1 amp powering a JLW3 for my subaru, and it also sounds pretty clean. I certainly prefer the other amp though. My best advice is to tune your amp yourself (gain, crossover). Most audio shops dont know how and/or wont waste their time tuning it for you. Play with them and find out which combonation works for you. Im confident you will notice that the differences induced by changing those setting knobs will be extremely notable.
