well the fwiw...a larger capacity oil pan will yield a few things if done properly. First of all more oil capacity mean more oil stays in the sump at any given rate. More oil also (in most cases) keeps the engine running cooler. My oil pan has 4 trap doors. I believe SZs pan only has 2. The pan I designed in using the 4 doors (turned on a 45 degree) keep oil around the sump tube better not to mention my custom pickup tube (which is included) is larger than factory and offers a better approach in staying covered at all times. Being rectangular gives it more surface area as well. I think SZs pan is a good alternative to stock and shouldn't be discredited for drag/street setups. From what others have stated here though it seems it may not be well suited for road course applications even with a accusump. There are always drawbacks to any performance parts. The age old give and take relationship. But you are right...my pan hasn't been put through the rigors of extensive road course abuse but I am very confident that it will do the job quite well. 8qts is quite a bit of oil and even if a lot of it is trapped in the heads you have to realize that there's at minimum 2-4qts in the sump at all times so running all the oil in the heads won't be much of an issue but I can't back that statement up until I have someone physically go out and run the pan in a true racing fashion. I can only make this statement based on oil consumption and how the engine utilizes oil. Honestly though any form of increased capacity for the oil pan if done properly for an application will out perform the stock pan hands down.
