Message	the exact reason point of failure. Both times I used good/new seals and was extremely careful to not damage them upon installation. My one guess would be that my polishing of the rack, which was completely unnecessary, marred the steel and allowed it to leak. I don't know what else it could have been. I went back with 2000 and 3000 grit to make it smooth I would NOT recommend polishing the rod. However, I will say that my process for getting the seals out is effective and having done it twice, highly recommend the heat gun to get the passenger side seal out.
