I know we don't rely much on the factory boost sensor but I think this is still something that would be good for the TT.Net FAQ archive. Just to let everyone know why I'm even looking at this area of the Z, I'm currently developing a way to improve the stock boost gauge and turn the existing components into an inexpensive and accurate boost controller yet still maintain the original way in how it operates. I may have a modified face made for the boost gauge to display higher boost levels.

As everyone knows, our cars already have wastegate solenoids that control the boost in a stock setup. The system I'm working on uses an inexpensive 3 bar boost sensor which replaces the stock sensor in the same location. I tested three stock boost sensors which i had on hand and was surprised to find that each one gave completely different results. It's maximum capability is also to limited for higher boost levels.

Another thing I'm working on is an easy way to monitor manifold pressure. I thought maybe a good location to install the sensor would be the end of one of the tubes that go to the EGR valve. But then I thought, if you already know the boost pressure don't you already know what the manifold pressure is? Any thoughts on this?
