Message	an electronic gauge for the pod I made on my steering column. The old mechanical gauge I had "fit" but barely, for the same reason as you. Switched to an electronic unit (the VDO gauge started rattling anyway) and it fit much better. Might be something to look into. I can't see too many mechanical gauges fitting in that pod with that angle...but I'd imagine some do.
