For the amount of money I was going to spend on the swap (parts alone, not even considering labor), it made a lot more financial sense to sell the NA and buy a TT.
I sold my NA, and bought a TT that had relatively low miles and a ton of mods (that were exactly what I would have wanted eventually anyways), and detailed history.
While my NA had a lot of sentimental value to me as my first Z (and first car too) all those feelings transferred right over to my new TT immediately upon plan of purchase.I have never looked back, and I am happy I made the right choice.
The cost I would have had to pay for the mods I received in my TT if I purchased them for my NA made the choice of buying a factory TT well worth the counter-option of swapping the NA. I gained a lot of bang for my buck. To answer your question on JDM front clips, don't do it.
You will never know what the true condition of the clip is, especially if you buy it off the internet sight unseen.
Mileage is a big concern, because these clips are never truly documented, and more often than not they have been quite abused.
If you decide you have to do a swap, find a well-documented wrecked North-American Z (rear damage etc), and use that car as a clip to base your swap on. As for Z1, I do not believe they really do many TT-swaps anymore. If they do, it probably costs something around $8000+.
I would simply recommend you can put that money together with the money you get from selling your NA-Z, and buy a really solid factory TT. In the end though, why would you even want to support Z1? I would not trust them alone with my Z after the things they pulled on Ash.
There are only a couple people I would trust to do a complete swap on a NA for me. RameyZ and Bernie are the first that come to my mind.
