Message After losing my coolant due to a hole in the upper heater at the track in september it was time for a rebuild
You can see steam collecting beneath my rear spoiler

I came into the pits as soon as my temp alarm went off, too late for my cometic head gasket, but no other damage was done.
So i called up member George Aslinger just outside of Chattanooga, at his shop Custom Concept Motorsports

We got to work right away, while george finished up work on another car, me and 2 of the Chattanooga contingent began
the process of removing the engine

didn't take too long with all of that help

I had to head back to NC so George could get some work done with me out of the way

a few slightly used parts

Good news, no internal damage, just the cometic head gasket, ceramic coating on the pistons still going strong after 50K miles, and many track events

while waiting on the machine shop new parts start arriving

Yummy, Swain coated MS manifolds

cleaned and pressure tested the heads all looked good followed by a quick refresh of the block

wasn't long before things are looking good

nice and shinny bottom end

snug fit on the mannys

got the call she was ready so i headed back to TN

oh yeah, just like i remembered her

George arranged a great cruise around Chattanooga so i could check out my car, i think we drove well over 100 miles
two of the Chattanooga crew approaching the posted speed limit

at one point forum member Mitch worked his magic with some great margaritas

while we were waiting on the machine shop, george installed a new product from LRE - longhorn race engineering

two stage NOS, low AND high pressure- can't wait to try it out at the track
all kidding aside you can see george's meticulous attention to detail on this install, this is why i chose him

two nozzles for me and two in the engine compartment

Everything was great with the car so i headed back home,
with only 3 weeks before my next track event i wanted to put as many miles on the engine as possible
car ran perfect for 600+ miles then developed a annoying electrical short. never any problem with the engine...i checked grounds all connectors etc didn't find anything
talked to george a few times via email and cell phone over two days he was Always very responsive. i couldn't find the problem...this was friday night.
after only 2 or 3 conversations back and forth george said "I'm coming out there" of course i said no! a 10 hour round trip to fix some stupid electrical problem on my 21 year old car not related to his work- but he insisted.

He got here just before midnight sat, he wanted to start working right away but i suggested we have a few brews instead...george didn't argue that point
Sunday am after a quick bite, we checked all of the obvious items...grounds connections etc., george removed all defi gauges radio center console, traced every wire, every ground, every fuse panel, nothing
put everything back together, while i was putting tools away getting ready for a test drive, george found the problem

a corroded wire at the accessory fuse panel hidden by black shrink wrap. Completely unrelated to his work. 10+ hours of driving and 1 1/2 weekend days away from his family just to make sure my car was perfect.

Not many people would do that...
we cruised around for a few hours, everything check out so george hit the road
2 weekends later i was back on the track passing porsches
car is perfect, thanks for your excellent work George.
