Message scaling options does have "some" impact on power output, but minimal...heck humidity, ambient temps, how aggressive you get with ignition timing, etc... Can all affect how a meager 20rwhp can swing in either direction, UP or down.

Again, for less than $500 you gain MAP + all the important areas that contribute to power...

MAF is a restrictor plate of sorts, with all this TT.net chitter chatter of breather mods and improving flow, air volume density, etc etc.....Why on earth would anyone desire to keep the MAF assembly (restriction point) in your turbo inlet piping???

Remove that sucker and let your turbo/s breath easier and faster, which translates to faster spool, and gains throughout the power band....

Stock ECU works fine, but a chipped 1 works better.

A chipped ECU works fine, but a MAF based dyno tuned 1 is better.

A MAF tuned ECU is fine, but a MAP tuned 1 is better.

(What more can be said to honestly support MAF???) delete the hooker like you would hicas or a carbon canister, lol

Unless something comes out that is better than MAP, the power output potential of a fully tuned mapecu2 or 3 vs any of the popular FULL standalones will be virtually the same, minus the unattractive $3,000+ price tag. + tuning (another $500+ if your not comfortable doing so on your own on the street or strapped to a dyno).

To me the main "benefit" of a standalone is having everything built into 1 unit, vs several items separated on our traditional upgrade path with a crap restrictive MAF system.

I will eventually sell off all the items I wasted money on supporting MAF,ie: the icolor boost controller, selin gear, etc... All that will pay for the majority of a switch to a full standalone of my choice; but I doubt I will do that anytime soon, since this does most of what I need.

The main things I would gain with a full standalone over my current unit are:

-Built in actve flex fuel. (transitions from pump fuels like 93 to E85 like allot of modern flex fuel equipped cars). (my fix: have 2 easy fuel maps to switch between)

-built in Traction control , The pro EFI unit has been reported to have the best output in this area vs the AEM. (the racelogic unit is $800 or more if you're lucky to find a price that low) a feature I want but the cost is pushing standalone when all combined...

Many other random items, but focusing on the popular useful aspects for now..
