| I read through several tutorials and such however I still feel nervous as I know the importance of setting the timing belt on correctly. Set piston #1 TDC on compression stroke while heads off (lined up with mark on oil pump) All Cam gears were in their general location indicated by marks on the rear cover prior to setting belt. Start with crank and work around counter-clockwise lining up marks on the belt (clamping them with wood clamps to avoid slipping) Install new auto-tensioner and remove the set bolt Rotate motor 2x which aligned the marks on cam gears with back plate (obviously the lines on belt don't line up again) Tensioner measured at 4mm (rotated again several times and re-verified still 4mm) Counted teeth when the piston #1 on compression stroke. 59 to driver exhaust, 24 to driver intake, 45 to pass intake and finally 24 to pass exhaust. Rotates freely with no binding or noise. I didn't have a tool to apply pressure to the belt to check deflection, as long as it's 4mm on tensioner is this entirely needed? I am nervous and would like opinions from a community with experience. Did I forget something? Seem correct? I know there are tons of timing related questions so I apologize. I reward with pics!
