| Gang... I've moved to Salt Lake City, and have concluded that the stock turbos must be cavitating or something, because I'm not getting the 14 psi boost I did back east at near sea level. I'm lucky to get 9 psi. All connections are tight and I'm using an accurate pressure gauge to measure. Knock sensor is not the problem. I'm not looking for huge horsepower at the expense of response....don't need more top end, and I'm looking for acceleration and torque from 0-80. Mostly I'd be happy to get back to 400 hp but if I can bolt on 500 hp, not have to use special fuel, not have to change cams I'll be happy. Might as well get the reliability of ball bearings. I also want enough reserve capacity so that I don't lose manifold pressure when I drive into the mountains. After I installed the JWT stage III kit, I liked the spool up at around 2600 RPM and don't want to sacrifice that. I'm afraid that if I get too large an A/R ratio that it will cause too much lag...I'm happy with the response of the stock ones. I'm looking at kits with GT2560R to a GT2871R turbos in them, and interested in owner experience with them. Also, I'm about to do an engine refresh....new bearings, seals, lifters and possibly pistons (after I take them out & measure wear). I'm interested in getting a complete kit so I don't have to order all of the parts individually and looking for recommendations from owners who have experience with them. Pertinent info:
