Message	of is only the pearl. The chemical protection comes from having a clear coat which I did do, but with a flattening agent to give it a satin appearance. It actually looks quite nice in person and my belief is that by not having a standard/glossy bay, it will draw your eyes to the engine itself, not the shininess everywhere else. 1993 TT.
